Grand River Hunts | Deer, Turkey & Waterfowl | Missouri
Property Name: Grand River
Location: Livingston County, Missouri
Livingston County sits in northwest Missouri where rolling cropland meets heavy river bottom timber along the Grand River. About 90 minutes from Kansas City and two hours from Columbia, this part of the state runs low population density, minimal hunting pressure, and big tracts of unbroken timber. That combination grows mature gobblers and heavy-racked whitetails.
The Grand River cuts through the county as the primary wildlife corridor. River bottom hardwoods hold Eastern wild turkeys, whitetail deer, and waterfowl year-round. When you pair that mature timber with adjacent row-crop agriculture, game stays put instead of passing through.
The Property
The Grand River tract covers 121.88 acres along the Grand River. 118 acres of heavy timber border a 70-acre soybean field, creating a natural funnel where timber meets agriculture. Turkeys roost in the hardwoods, feed in the beans, and travel the river corridor between the two. Whitetail deer run the same patterns. Trail cameras confirmed consistent turkey activity throughout February 2026, with flocks of 8-plus birds documented across multiple dates.
Private land shooting hours during Missouri's spring turkey season extend to sunset, giving you a full afternoon window that public land hunters lose at 1:00 p.m. The Grand River provides a natural barrier that limits pressure from surrounding properties and concentrates wildlife movement through this tract.
