Spring Trophy Turkey Hunting in Northwest Missouri & Southeast Kansas
Spring Turkey Hunts at Tegridy Outdoors
If you are looking for a legitimate chance at a trophy caliber turkey this spring, Tegridy Outdoors offers two exceptional properties with strong bird numbers, excellent habitat, low hunting pressure, and the kind of surrounding terrain that gives mature toms room to thrive.
These are not average turkey properties. These are the kinds of farms that give hunters a real opportunity at mature birds in areas where habitat, water, food, and low pressure all come together.
Northwest Missouri: Livingston County, Missouri
Our Livingston County property sits south of Chillicothe and offers 122 acres, including 118 acres of continuous timber. The farm is bordered by the Grand River and creeks on three sides, with a soybean field on the fourth side. That layout creates everything serious turkey hunters want, including timber, water, food, travel corridors, and natural security.
This is an extremely low pressure area. The neighboring property to the south includes more than 550 acres, most of it wooded. To the north, the surrounding ground expands the habitat footprint even further. Altogether, the area creates nearly 800 continuous acres of prime eastern wild turkey habitat.
The quality of birds on this property is not speculation. On a recent drive by, before even reaching the entrance, we spotted a bachelor group of five birds. At least two toms appeared to carry 10+ inch beards.
Southeast Kansas: Bourbon County, Kansas - Unit 6 Turkey
Our Southeast Kansas property is every bit as special. While it is known for producing exceptional bucks, it also supports a strong turkey population and excellent spring hunting potential.
Trippy Creek runs through the farm, and more than 55 acres of hardwoods on the 130 acre property connect directly into another 600 continuous acres of hard timber. That kind of habitat, combined with large neighboring landowners and limited surrounding pressure, creates a premium setup for hunters pursuing mature birds.
Some adjoining landowners do not hunt their properties, which only adds to the quality of the area.
